The Foundation will contribute to and support the social and economic progress of the communities in which SC and/or its employees are present to positively impact the lives of the people living and working in the communities in which Santander operates.

Hundreds of lower-income students and families received laptops – and a greater chance to prosper – thanks to a partnership between Santander Consumer and Dallas nonprofit Compudopt. This marks the beginning of a $35 million multi-year grant from the Santander Consumer USA Inc. Foundation aimed at closing the digital divide and providing financial empowerment.

Organizations Receiving Grants

A New Leaf (Arizona) Funding will support the BankWork$ Workforce Program by enrolling 200 individuals in an eight-week career training program where they will obtain employment with financial institutions. The Assets to Opportunity Match will provide for support for post-secondary education and small business development for 60 individuals.

American Red Cross (National) Funding will power the Red Cross to assist communities and be ready to help disaster survivors at a moment’s notice and provide disaster recovery.

Builders of Hope (Texas) Funding will support the Red Bird Economic Mobility Center, which will include housing and financial counseling with the intent to increase homeownership 10% in the Red Bird area of South Dallas, as well as continue support for the West Dallas Homebuyer support center.

Bryan’s House (Texas) Grant funding will provide therapy and case management support to improve mobility for children with special needs.

Café Momentum (Texas) Funding supports the Café Momentum Internship and Education Program to serve 80+ youth during the grant period and increase intern financial literacy where 90% of interns will complete one or more workshops, open a bank account or use a budget or savings tool and 70% of interns will complete one or more restaurant rotations, qualifying them for independent employment.

Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum (Texas) Funding will support family and youth programming and field trips for underserved students.

Dallas Black Dance Theatre (Texas) Funding will support renewal of Black History Month programming which includes student experiences.

Dallas College (Texas) Funding will provide support for the Cultivate Small Business Program as a local business and mentor recruiter.

Dallas Hope Charities (Texas) Funding supports the LGBT-focused youth homeless shelter in Dallas and provides a safe and welcoming environment to grow.

Dallas Innovation Alliance (Texas) Funding will support the Digital Ambassador Program with hyper-local community anchor site locations and expansion of the Mobile Learning Lab programs with STEAM programming and Wi-Fi support.

Empowering the Masses (Texas) Funding will support three freezers for the new food pantry location and laptops and hot spots for 60 students in phlebotomy and/or community health worker certification classes.

Family Gateway (Texas) Funds will be used for emergency shelter or overflow and for housing-focused case management for families with children entering the emergency shelter program.

First Tee (Texas) Funding will support the First Tee Southeast Dallas learning center and associated programming to keep students in school and excel in life.

Genesis Women’s Shelter (Texas) Funding for the Emergency Assistance and Save to Build Program will assist women and children as they transition from crisis to stability and will provide matching funds for 20 families that have saved prior to exiting transitional housing, with a goal that 90% of clients will improve their credit score.

Innocence Project (National) Funding will support a Texas attorney to address legal issues and specifically legal issues for the wrongly accused.

Impact Ventures (Texas) Funding will support the Impact Ventures accelerator program by helping 60 women and Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) owned small businesses with education, mentorship, technical assistance and access to capital.

Local Initiatives Support Corporation (Arizona) Funding will support building capacity toward financial stability in the “Distrito Latino” and Asian Business District, low-to-moderate income (LMI) corridors of Mesa, AZ.

National Medal of Honor Museum (Texas) Funding for this project will help construct the National Medal of Honor Museum through opening and help launch National Medal of Honor Institute programming.

New Friends New Life (Texas) Funding for the Economic Empowerment and Barrier Removal Initiative will address economic and legal barriers facing 250 adult survivors, a portion of funding will support financial literacy, employment coaching and benchmarked financial services and a portion will fund the legal advocacy clinic.

North Texas Food Bank (Texas) Funding will support renewal of the North Texas fleet grant. Fleet funding allows the food bank to transport food across 13 counties throughout a 10,000-square-mile service area managing a fleet of eight box trucks and 11 semi-trailers.

Pasco Economic Development Council (EDC) (Florida) The Pasco EDC will use this grant to support the local entrepreneur ecosystem specifically as it relates to women, minority and veteran-owned businesses and startups through a scholarship opportunity of up to $3,600 per recipient.

POETIC (Texas) Grant funding will help equip youth to avoid the cycle of revictimization and move forward by increasing healthy coping skills, while creating pathways toward financial independence.

Quality of Life Foundation (Texas) Funding will support renewal of the Quality of Life grant for the economic development and well-being of citizens of the Dallas region.

Save the Family (Arizona) Funding will support Family, Adults and Children Empowerment Services to include Case Management, Career Development and parent and children’s services in a 10-month program for 550 families.

Sojourner Center (Arizona) Funding will support program supportive services for the shelter including advocacy, helplines, legal services and housing.

The Concilio (Texas) Funding will support the Parents Advocating for Student Excellence parental engagement program and the Latino Capacity Model project.

The Senior Source (Texas) Funding will support the Elder Financial Safety Money Management program which will increase financial well-being and decrease client stress from financial emergencies.

Trusted World (Texas) Funding will secure the continuation of South Dallas’ just-in-time delivery route that serves individuals within 24-48 hours of requested support by social workers, teachers and police officers.

United Food Bank (Arizona) Funding will support renewal of the fleet fuel cost grant.

UTA (Texas) Renewal of support for the UTA Rise program.

Vogel Alcove (Texas) Funding will support moving children and families from crisis to thriving through the Vogel Alcove Capital and Expansion Campaign at Red Bird that will serve approximately 100 additional children with Vogel Alcove’s childcare services.

Walls Project (Texas) Funding for the Walls Project will support the “Future Proof” program for creative services and information technology workforce development, including coding for the web, graphic design, copywriting, digital photography and IT back-office support. Funding also includes community development work creating public art.

Wheels of Success(Florida) Funding will increase the number of individuals being assisted with major car repairs and insurance and tag fees. Support also will increase and improve key client outcomes through hiring of the Client Coordinator/Case Manager to maintain client assistance.

Year Up (Texas) Funding finances in Texas for workforce development with goals of employed graduates earning a starting wage of $18 per hour and 85% would be employed or enrolled in post-secondary education within four months of graduation.

360 Eats (Florida) Support for Sustain-A-Bowl food truck curbing food insecurity and food waste in Tampa Bay, Florida.

Community Enrichment Center (Texas) Funding for the Housing Plus and Direct Emergency Assistance and workforce development programs with a goal of improving the Financial Capability Score for participants after 12 months in the program and improving credit scores of at least 10 points per quarter for 50% of participants while also securing savings and increasing income.

Compudopt (National) Funding supports digital education, digital literacy, laptop distributions and connectivity in major metro areas in the U.S.

Dallas Black Dance Theatre (Texas) Funding to support Black History Month programming (in person and virtual), including concert performances, touring, outreach and student matinees.

Dallas Concilio (Texas) Funding supports the Parents Advocating for Student Excellence program and the Power of Latinos Summit which informs and educates community stakeholders about the specific needs of the Latino community as well as highlight contributions and assets.

Dallas Hope Charities  (Texas) Support for Dallas’ only transitional living center for LGBTQ+ youth ages 18-24.

Mosaic Family Services (Texas) Support for program costs at the emergency shelter for victims of family violence or human trafficking.

Funding will also support workforce development in Dallas with two garage internships including salary, benefits and training materials.

Operation HOPE (National) Funding supports national expansion to 15 cities helping CityYear Americorps participants develop financial skills, acumen and improve credit scores.

Parkland Foundation (Texas) Funding supports the Learning and Experience Apprenticeship Program which provides recent high school graduates from LMI backgrounds a 12-week paid internship with hands-on training as Patient Financial Services Representatives.

Pasco Economic Development Council (Florida) Support for small- and minority-owned businesses via the SMARTStart business incubator and CO.STARTERS business development program.

Pasco Hernando State College (Florida) Support for the First-Generation Matching Grant Program that is matched 2:1 through the State of Florida.

POETIC (Texas) Funding supports the Entrepreneurial Institute with financial security milestones and trauma therapy and administrative office recovery from the Dallas flood.

Quality of Life Foundation (Texas) The Tomorrow Fund provides the necessary resources to drive economic development, improve education, attract talent and support infrastructure, transportation and water issues to strategically manage the region’s growth.

Reading to New Heights (Texas) Funding adds a literacy staff member that will allow 65 people wanting to learn to read to be removed from the waitlist.

Save the Family (Arizona) Funding supports Family, Adults and Children Empowerment Services to include case management, career development and parent and children’s services in a 10-month program, in addition funding will support Step Up to Independence focusing on homeless families, this 24-month program addresses stabilization, increasing savings and financial independence.
